Primary Care Building

Chianis + Anderson Architects provided architectural design services for a primary care facility in Whitney Point, New York. The program includes 6 exam rooms, a dedicated nurse station, lab, waiting room, physician offices, and handicapped toilets The project included the repair and renovation the historic 1904 Reporter building and a sympathetic one-story addition on the adjacent gap site. Chianis + Anderson Architects worked closely with SHPO to ensure that the historic Reporter building could be restored to its former standing in the village whilst remaining relevant and useful for its new life as a primary care facility. An improved and ADA accessible parking lot was created at the rear. Bricks and coursing were selected with particular care to blend into the existing facade. Exterior improvements also included the replacement of the existing roof, restoration of the decorative cornice, new parapet walls, and the addition of gutters.
