Healthcare

Medical Neighborhood Project

After working with Delaware Valley Hospital for decades, Chianis +Anderson Architects was engaged to design this 100,000 SF addition to their existing facility in Walton, NY.
This addition replaces their existing inpatient department, the Primary, Care Center, Lab, Physical Therapy, Skills Lab, and provides for future expansion of their services.

Challenges addressed as part of this construction was the need to address the new four-story addition standing next to their existing one-story facility. Broken facades and drive through canopy help address this addition along with material selection for the exterior to break up the height of the facade. Additionally, as this is a very tight site, Chianis +Anderson was instrumental in working with the CM to address site feasibility concerns.

The design meets current needs and is designed to be flexible into the future. Durability and longevity are important as this facility will need to address community healthcare needs well into the future.
