Chianis + Anderson Architects provided architectural design services for a new building to house a robotic arm linear accelerator or CyberKnife technology that is used to perform stereotactic radiosurgery. At the time, this project served as the first location of its kind in all of upstate New York.

The 5,500sf building adjoined with the Hospital’s existing Cancer Care Center. The design team created a very non-clinical atmosphere that has the patient in mind. Utilizing unique features such as hardwood flooring, soft ambient lighting and high end audio and visual systems, the patient experience is eased during the typical 1 ½ to 2 hour long procedure.
