Grand Opening of New Medical Facility

On Saturday, October 6th 2012, United Health Services (UHS) celebrated the grand opening of their new medical facility. The structure now serves as the home base of the Breast Center, a Walk-In Center and medical offices in Primary Care, Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Cardiology, and Gynecology. Support services, such as on-site Pharmacy, Laboratory, Imaging, and MRI are also included. The 86,000 square foot structure began in 2009 with a simple hand drawn sketch. Through multiple meetings with the Owner and careful coordination with our consultants, Chianis + Anderson Architects designed the four level medical facility to meet the dynamic needs of the Healthcare industry. Project success can be attributed to our long standing relationship with UHS and the addition of LeChase Construction Services—a strong construction partner.

Certificate of Educational Achievement

Partner, Todd Anderson, AIA, and Project Manager, Bill Gorham, have earned a Certificate of Educational Achievement as part of a 5-day Fire and Life Safety for Health Care seminar in Baltimore, Maryland. Achievement of this certificate demonstrates essential knowledge of the new requirements for life safety compliance in healthcare facilities (NFPA 101 and NFPA 99) and how they relate to the Joint Commission Statement of Conditions standards and CMS criteria. Issues addressed in the seminar include: review of the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems, identification of permitted means of egress, and classification of occupancies in healthcare facilities.
